Inspectors from Israel’s Kashrus Fraud Prevention Union along with Health Ministry officials raided a factory in the Kfar Zemer Industrial Park located north of the so-called “Triangle”, which is a large Israeli Arab area in northern Israel.

Armed with a search warrant, inspectors uncovered an illegal olive oil production operation with bottles displaying the following names;

· שמן זית שערי ירושלים,

· שמן זית יורשלמי,

· שמן זית תבור,

· שמן זית גלעד,

· שמן זית גלבוע,

· שמן זית זית וגפן

Contents of the factory were destroyed by inspectors. Fines were issued and arrests made. Inspection of the alleged olive oils by the Agroleico lab in Portugal revealed they were not olive oil but a mixture of a number of other oils while the labels read 100% olive oil.

An alert was issued pertains to olive oil with the following information.

· Gilad olive oil, cold press, 0.5%, 1 liter bottle with a final marketing date of December 31, 2018. Gilad Meshek 14, Mobile Post Har Menashe.

· Tavor Syrian olive oil 0.8% extra virgin, 1 liter, filled by production 7532, Meshek Beit Chaggai 74, Mobile Post Har Tavor. Final marketing date December 31, 2018.
