Imprisoned Bachur in Japan May be Coming to Israel

ywbn2.gifReliable but yet unconfirmed sources are reporting that the youngest of the yeshiva bochrim imprisoned in Japan, Yosef ben Ita Rivka, who was sentenced in May, may be coming to Israel to serve the remainder of his term.

It appears that Japanese justice minister has signed a request from Israeli officials which will permit Yosef to serve his term in Israel.

According to one report, a recent meeting was held between the Japanese minister and Rav Chaim Yosef Dovid Weiss Shlita, of Antwerp, with the rav spending some two hours in the minister’s office, discussing the plight of the bochrim.

The official request was signed by Israeli Justice Minister Prof. Yaakov Neeman, and if reports are accurate, b’siyata d’shmaiya, Israel Police will be traveling to Japan in the coming days to take their prisoner into custody and bring young Yosef back home to Eretz Yisrael.

  1. This is irresponsible journalism. Until the bochur is actually out of Japan everyone should keep their mouths firmly shut and let the askonim do their work in private.

  2. Wow- that definitely brightened up my day. A major thank you to Hagaon Rav Chaim Yosef Dovid Weiss Shlita from Antwerp for his phenomenal efforts to make this happen!

  3. BH and IYH the other two also bisyato dishmayo. May the yemei yogon of klal yisroel, the 9 days of Av, which are turning into yemei simcha for these bochurim, also turn into yemei simcha for klal yisroel.

  4. Halevay. The first bit of good news in these difficult days. May this “ge’uloh” be the forerunner of the great Ge’uloh we are all davvening for

  5. Wow! That is the best news I have heard today.
Baruch Hashem. Thats great. Lets daven that the other bachurim should be let out also.

  6. To #1 Hamodia (page 1 section D) spoke to Horav Bleich who is very active in the case and it was he who announced the news that the Japanese Minister of Justice actuially signed the papers. If Horav Bleich who is involved released why are you second guessing him?

To Editor why “unconfirmed”? No I dont work for Hamodia

  7. It is amasing how people jump to conclusions based on pure speculation. This Dayan Weiss of antwerp, has not been involved in the positive act of getting Yossi B. to Israel. In fact D Weiss has nothing to do with this youngest boy at all. He only represents the 2 older ones and has nothing to do with this effort.

  8. Wait until the bochur is returned to Israel. Rest assured that the Chareidim will riot to get him released.
Another big chillul hashem waiting to happen.

  9. PS. I endorse comment #1 as 100% accurate. If you where this boys father you would never have allowed this story on. This is irrisponsible. Hope the YW checks the motives of the sources of their news tips.

  10. To #7

Wonderfull. if you have a choice to blame a yid or a goy, why not blame a yid. ( How do you call this …. Yisrual) with such good pepole like you do we still need bad one’s.

    than what’s your opinion about the yidisha Ma’me BLID BIL’BAL ’09 ?

by the way did you ever fly and had to have a conection flight some place else than your final desditnation.

  11. Aren’t the askanim afraid of the israeli prison system? After all, the guards are Nazis, the “Zionists” might run off with them like they did to the Teimanim, and you can’t trust the Israeli butcher doctors? Isn’t it safer in Japan?

Hey! You can’t have it both ways here!

  12. #15 ZION, even more so,
Can we say the establishment of the state of ISRAEL in 1948 provides a HOME for those who need, desire and want a refuge? The Palestinean State of pre-1948 who have a closed-door policy for Japanese convicts. Keep this in mind!!

  13. Until all the boys are safely home do one think and keep davening. Dayan Weiss is a tzaddick gemore and he does it for every Yid no matter his flavour even secular. ASK HASHEM to give him strength and daven that the boys are release
