Friday Afternoon News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


Sirens sounded in northern Israel on Friday morning alerting residents. A malfunction was blamed for the false alarm.

**For the first time in the state’s history, a plane carrying 150 S. American immigrants landed in Ben-Gurion International Airport carrying new arrivals from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Uruguay.
