Shomron residents on Wednesday held a protest in the Hizme area, demanding the government treat them as they lately do residents of PA (Palestinian Authority) areas.

Residents, who are compelled to wait at the Hizme Checkpoint entrance to the capital for 45 minutes or longer are asking for relaxed security condition too, as Defense Minister Ehud Barak has ordered the removal of hundreds of roadblocks and checkpoints.

The residents explain the inspections at the crossing from Shomron into the capital is causing unjustifiable hardships, now demanding the same government consideration as PA autonomous areas.
