IDF Major-General Benny Gantz, who this week was appointed as the IDF’s next deputy chief of staff, paid a visit to the Kosel, where he put on tefillin as well. Gantz, who has been serving as the IDF military attache to Washington, DC, will become the next chief of staff, placing him in line as one of two contenders to become the next chief of staff after IDF Lt.-General Gabi Ashkenazi steps down.
During his Kosel visit, the senior officer met with Kosel Rav Shmuel Rabinowitz who gave him a bracha on his recent appointment.
