Before police even had a chance to calm down from the erev shabbos carnage near Bet Shemesh, they received a beeper alert during the predawn hours, learning that 19-year-old Moshe Elyakim z”l was killed after the vehicle he was driving slammed into a pole at the Mt. Scopus Tunnel in the capital. The vehicle was cut in two. The unlicensed driver was killed on the spot. Police have obtained testimony from eyewitnesses that state he was drinking at a pub prior to taking the vehicle.

Police report it appears the driver took his brother’s vehicle without permission even though he did not have a license to operate a motor vehicle. Police report that he lost control of the car in the tunnel.

  1. I have been by many fatal car accidents, but i have never seen anything so horrific in my life. When arriving on scene I wasn’t sure if it was a two car collission, or one car split in two. It was split in two whith the two parts about 100 feet from one another and other car parts strewn in a ditch down the block.
Mazal that there was only one person in the car because noone could have survived that wreck.

  2. Many parents should know that their children in Israel have
    fake UK, EU, INTERNATINAOL licenses
and are driving around the country

  3. #6 – one who reads about a 19-year old guy who steals a car (his mother certainly did not approve), got drunk, and was driving without a license.

Each of those things alone is asking for trouble. Never mind all of them together.

He was asking for it, that’s the plain truth. Nobody forced him to drive a car while being drunk and not knowing how to drive. It’s his fault, his alone, and he will have to account for it now.

  4. Daniel breslauer how in heavens name can you say that?!? this boy who nebach made the wrong choices and you think you have the rughts to judge?ppl like you cause these stuff to happen!
