Justice Minister Yael Shaked announced a series of innovative measures towards coping with the ongoing wave of Islamic terror. Among the measures she mentions is forfeiture of a terrorist’s assets, including money and one’s home.

Shaked told Galei Tzahal Radio “Terrorists’ financial property and homes must be forfeited. Even the land of a destroyed home will be forfeited and they will not be permitted to build on it again in the future”.

In actuality, the ideas put forward by Shaked are not all innovative as they have been presented in the past but it appears that today; there is sufficient cabinet support to push them through.

It did not take long for the left-wing to attack her proposal, as MK Esawi Frej of Meretz stated “Every day we hear a new offer with more creative punitive measures which do nothing other than to fuel the situation and further undermine Israeli democracy without any benefit”.
