A van stashed with several million dollars of high-end jewelry and designer handbags was stopped early this morning making a bee-line for a New Jersey flea market.
Driver Lin Librao, 28, and his wife were cruising on West 40th Street in Manhattan near the Lincoln Tunnel at 4:50 a.m. when Port Authority police officer Roberto Reyes pulled them over for running a red light, sources said.
Librao, who lives in Corona, Queens, told Reyes he was heading to a flea market in New Jersey, the sources said.
When cops peaked into the back of the Chevy Suburban van, whose rear windows were blacked out, they discovered a treasure trove of couture goods.
The stash included 10,000 pieces of jewelry and 1,000 purses bearing the logos of Coach, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Versace and Juicy Couture. Police estimated that the van held $1 million in Tiffany-labeled jewelry alone.
Officials spent hours this morning making an inventory of the goods and industry trade experts were called in to appraise the swag.
Librao was arrested and awaiting arraignment this afternoon. His wife was not taken into custody.
