Court Sentences Last Arson Suspect in Bilingual School Case


arsonYitzchak Gabbai on Tuesday, 19 Kislev, was sentenced to two years imprisonment and a third year of probation for last year’s arson attack on the Jerusalem Bilingual School. The attack was a hate crime as the school was targeted because it serves both Jews and Arabs, as was evident by the graffiti left by the arsonists on the scene.

Brothers Shlomo Rachamim and Nachman Tuito, 20 and 18 respectively, were sentenced to two and two-and-a-half years imprisonment.

The attack occurred in November 2014 and it was viewed as a hate crime from the onset of the investigation. Graffiti left at the scene included “There is no dual existence with cancer”, “Death to Arabs” and Kahane was right”.

The school is situated in the Patt neighborhood of the capital.
