IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gabi Ashkenazi announced that beginning in 2010, IDF reservists will be called to duty once in three years with the remaining two years to be dedicated to training exercises to permit forces to maintain their level of proficiency.
IDF Chief of Personnel Branch Major-General Avi Zamir made the announcement.
