President Barack Obama said there is currently no “specific and credible” intelligence indicating a terrorist plot on the United States, as he sought to reassure anxious Americans for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Speaking at the White House on Wednesday, Obama said it was understandable that Americans might be nervous following the Nov. 13 attacks in Paris, which killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more. But he urged people to go about their normal activities around Thanksgiving.
“While the threat of terrorism is a troubling reality of our age, we are both equipped to prevent attacks and we are resilient in the face of those who would try to do us harm,” Obama said. “And that’s something we can all be thankful for.”
Obama spoke after a briefing with his national security team, including FBI Director James Comey, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Homeland Security Director Jeh Johnson and his national security adviser, Susan Rice.
The president said that if intelligence were to reveal a credible threat to the U.S., the public would be informed. But he said Americans should feel confident in the work being done by national security and law enforcement officials.
“We are taking every possible step to keep our homeland safe,” he said.

Given Obama’s “honest” track record, what he says is usually the opposite of reality. If he says there is no credible threat against the US, I take it to mean that there really IS a credible threat to the US.
Yeah, Isis was on the run a day prior to the France attacks. Hey GodFather. Stop dreaming! Smell the fire! Get out of the house!
Maybe “no specific threat now”, but there could be one an hour or a day, or a month from now. This “numb head” has no clue.
Just think of the past when the heads of the United States government said the same thing and it hit the fan.

I’d suggest our brilliant Mr. know it all President simply keep his mouth shut. Every time he opens his mouth about ISIS, they show him real clear how little he really knows. The day before the Paris attacks ISIS was “contained in Iraq and Syria” in this brilliant man’s words. I wonder if the Paris attacks weren’t the answer to his proclamation.
