Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Sunday clarified the situation, stating reports of an imminent deal to result in the release of Gilad Shalit may be harmful to efforts to accomplish his release.

The senior minister discarded reports appearing in various Arab media over recent days, stating that unfortunately, there is no imminent deal despite the continued circulation of such rumors.
