A boiler room at the Satmar Boys Camp (Kutsher’s Hotel) on Anawana Lake Road in Monticello was destroyed by a fire early Shabbos morning.

Monticello Fire Chief Mark Friedland told MidHudsonNews that the fire broke out at 3 a.m. and consumed the room. The cause is unknown and under investigation.

The boiler room was across a parking lot from the hotel itself and there was no damage to the main building.

The boys have not yet arrived at the camp, and there were no injuries reported.

Assisting at the scene were fire departments from Rock Hill, Hurleyville and Fallsburg and Mobile Medic EMS.
