While it took three years, an indictment has been filed in the case in which a caterer hired for the Independence Day events at the President’s Residence served treif. It was learned the Pri Haaretz catering company ran out of kosher shwarma and an employee bought treif from an Abu Gosh butcher, 80 kg of treif.
Yisrael Hayom reports that the Jerusalem prosecutor have moved ahead with the case, charging the defendant with aggravated fraud and interfering with a police investigation. The investigation was headed by Rabbi Rafi Yochai, who heads the Kashrus Fraud Unit which operates under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister’s Office in conjunction with Jerusalem police.
