In an expected move, the European Union (EU) has given approval for a policy that compels marking items originating in Jewish areas of Yehuda, Shomron, the Golan Heights, Jordan Valley and areas of Yerushalayim to permit shoppers to decide if they wish to purchase such goods.
In the resolution to adopt the new discriminatory policy, the EU explains this new labeling law pertains to areas “occupied by Israel since June 1967”, referring to the areas of Eretz Yisrael liberated in the Six Day War.
The new EU policy will begin with the labeling of food and it will then be expanded to all items originating in the areas mentioned. As the tide in many areas of Europe turns increasingly anti-Semitic, the labeling will without a doubt have a negative economic effect on Israel regarding goods shipped to EU nations from those areas.
The move will also impact tens of thousands of PA (Palestinian Authority) residents who are employed in Jewish businesses in the areas mentioned.
In response to the decision, the Peace Now Movement released a statement explaining “Product labeling is not a boycott of Israel or BDS, but a legitimate process designed to separate the products made in settlements from the blue and white products”.

1)According to most countries in the World the Jewish areas of Yehuda, Shomron, the Golan Heights, Jordan Valley and areas of Yerushalayim are not recognized as Israel. Like it or not but that is a fact. And therefore products from hose areas can not be labeled “Made in Israel”.
2)YWN writes that the tide in many areas of Europe turns increasingly anti-Semitic. That is a correct statement. But tell us why labeling products “Made in Israel” will blur the antisemites less than “Made in West Bank” or “Made in Palestine”?
It’s not like Israel doesn’t make stuff outside the “occupied” places so it shouldn’t hurt their economy.
Also this plan may backfire like that app some Democrats made to research companies supporting Demos and Repubs, with the intention of helping libs boycott the latter – and it worked both ways.
To be consistent will the EU require labeling of products from northern Cyprus an area that is occupied by turkey and Cyprus has claimed for years? What about items labeled made in Chinese occupied Mongolia or made in Kosovo a “country” not recognized by most of the world. In fact the un currently lists close to 200 areas in the world whose jurisdiction is in dispute.
Companies should add yellow Star of David
JUST LIKE THE GOOD OLD DAYS IN THE EU WE JUST WANT THE PEOPLE TO BE AWARE WERE THERE PRODUCTS ARE MADE IN ORDER NOT TO BY THEM NOW YOU LIKE IN GOOD OLD GERMANY TELL ME WHAT THAT MEANS?
