Shmuel Reizman, who was wounded in the stabbing attack at Shar Binyamin on erev Shabbos 24 Cheshvan, recounts the details of the attack from his bed in Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. While he arrived in the emergency room in serious condition, B’chasdei Hashem he is improving and now listed in moderate/stable condition.
Reizman told Ynet News “After finishing my shopping at Rami Levi supermarket, I placed my things in the car. My wife called me to remind me that I have to stop by the pharmacy. I drove there with the car and took my pepper spray gun with me. I hesitated for a moment if I should take it or not. I did take it and that is my miracle as at the time, there was not a single person in the area”.
“Suddenly, I felt someone grab me from behind. At first, I thought it was a friend messing around but then I felt a second hand delivering blows and I felt blood flowing. I turned around and with my elbow pushed him from me. He ran back about two meters. I pulled the pepper spray on him and then he fled”.
He added “When I drew the pepper spray gun he thought it was a real gun and fled. Baruch Hashem I had a big miracle”.
“A stab wounded missed a major artery by a centimeter. They did a CAT scan in the hospital and determined I do not require surgery”
