President Barack Obama will be in the city later today, meaning drivers should expect street closures.

The president will first head to Newark this afternoon, where he will visit a drug treatment center and discuss prison reform.

Later in the day, Obama will head to the city where he will attend two Democratic party events – including at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

The FDR Drive will be shut down. Avoid the area of the FDR Drive from 5:30PM to 7:00PM.

Avoid 5th Avenue at 87th Street from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.

Avoid the “Theater District” from 7:00PM to 11:00PM.
