Monday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


A Kassam rocket was launched into southern Israel on Sunday afternoon, the second attack within 24 hours. Baruch Hashem, there were no injuries. The rocket landed in the Chof Ashkelon Regional Council area.

**A Postal Authority agent was robbed at gunpoint in Rishon L’Tzion on Sunday. The bandit waited for him to emerge from a post office with the day’s income in his bag and brandished a gun and then fled on his motorcycle.

**Bomb demolition technicians on Sunday afternoon neutralized an explosive device detected along the Gaza border in the Kissufim area.

**IDF soldiers taking part in counter-terror operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron arrested 9 suspects on Sunday night.

**Three students in the Shomron community of Kochav HaShachar were arrested on suspicion of breaking into the yeshiva office.

**Line disruptions were reported in reaching Israel Electric Company assistance operators on Sunday afternoon, apparently due to the high volume of calls, the result of a billing error which left many clients with too high a bill. IEC officials insist the difficulties in reaching company operators were not due to work sanctions pertaining to a labor dispute.
