“The President welcomes the important step forward in Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech. The President is committed to two states, a Jewish state of Israel and an independent Palestine, in the historic homeland of both peoples. He believes this solution can and must ensure both Israel’s security and the fulfillment of the Palestinians’ legitimate aspirations for a viable state, and he welcomes Prime Minister Netanyahu’s endorsement of that goal.
The President will continue working with all parties – Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Arab states, and our Quartet partners – to see that they fulfill their obligations and responsibilities necessary to achieve a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and a comprehensive regional peace.”

hate to be pessamistic, but the PA will never agree to an army-less state. I just hope bibi will stay firm with this and not cave in to hussein’s pressure tactics.
The fact is that itsi time Israel look for new freinds and if none are to be found, so be it, Jews have always been oppressed. I am sure Boeing and the rest of military industrial complex want Israel’s business staying here and not going elsewhere or staying at home. Obama is a good student of FARRAKHAN and Wright
Historic homeland of both peoples??!!
i agree w elisha that’s what bibi wants
who in the world believed that it will go so fast by isreal to give under for the palestinian & agree for a palistinian land & specialy for the recent prime menister BIBI NETANYAU!
IF THIS HAPPENS “HASEM YERACEIM”
5769 years is a lot of history and many ethnicities can have ties to a particular land over that length of time. Ther is no question that it was an Arab homeland for the better part of the last 1500 years.
the arabs are so high in power right now-more then ever before.
it says in gemara-not sure where-but it says that a nation cant have power more then once.
it also says that before moshiach, the arabs are going to have alot of power!!theylle be world powers!!
do the math!!!were in dor moshiach!we have to wake up now and change before hashem has to really open our eyes rachmana litzlan!!lets all make commitments in the zchus of moshiach!!
and may we only hear besuros tovos anf may moshiach come bimhaira viyameinu amen!
Bibi made a brilliant tactical move. He gave a speech that was written to say something and nothing at the same time. The chances of any arab accepting a de-militarised state without Jlm as its capital are ZERO. Therefore, all remains as is, with Bibi continuing the same path of “natural growth” in the settlements without adding new ones.
So lets say Natanyahu used some “saychil” here and said ok you want it, here are the conditions knowing full well that the arabs yemach sh’mom wont take it. they had all that land ready to be given over on a silver platter but jimmy the jerk carter told arabfat not to take it.
the problem is that the conditions wont mean anything and it will nebach happen.
historic homeland of two peoples???????????? since when?????????
Why isen’t Obama committed to an independent state of Al Qaeda or Talibania, just on the border of Virginia and Washington, D.C.
