Caretaker in Bnei Brak Senior Citizens Home Suspected of Beating Patient

mishA caretaker employed in a Bnei Brak senior citizens’ facility is suspected of beating an elderly lady. The caretaker was taken into police custody.

The story began when a man in his 30s arrived at the Ramat Gan police station and he spoke with detectives explaining his mother, who lives in the home, told him the care is not what it should be and she is often ignored. The man told police he already tried speaking with officials at the home but they were unwilling to hear what he had to say.

The man installed a hidden camera in his mom’s room in the hope of determining if she is indeed telling an accurate story. To his sorrow he saw the 32-year-old female caretaker hits his mother in her head and across her face.

The caretaker has been arrested and she denies the allegations despite the video evidence against her. When asked by police why she was striking the elderly lady in her head and face she remained silent. She was arraigned and the court extended her remand.

  1. Everyone who has an elderly relative who needs a carer should put a wi-fi enabled camera in the relative’s room to see what is going on, notify the carer in advance and put a clear written notice that the room is being constantly monitored by wi-fi camera. The object of the exercise is to avoid situations such as that described in the article not provide evidence afterwards.
