An undercover investigation by police led to the arrest of a chareidi man in his 40s who is suspected of involvement in stealing Sifrei Torah from shuls.
According to police, two Tiveria residents in their 40s stole Sifrei Torah from a number of shuls in Tiveria, selling them to a chareidi dealer from Yerushalayim who would then sell them for profit.
Police on Wednesday night the eve of 16 Cheshvan made arrests and a third suspect was taken into custody towards morning on Thursday.
The suspects were arraigned on Thursday.
