Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in recent weeks released numerous statements assuring the international community that the status quo pertaining to Har Habayis has not changed. He also continues calling on PA (Palestinian Authority) leader Abu Mazen to stop the incitement and to refrain from inciting violence surrounding the Har Habayis issue. Last week he fled to Berlin where he met with US Secretary of State John Kerry, once again discussing the Har Habayis issue.

However, what is not reported is that Israel can do a great deal to halt the incitement on Har Habayis but prefers to turn a blind eye. Islamic religious personalities continue to deliver sermons that incite worshipers to continue the violence and the battle surrounding al-Aqsa Mosque. The following video is one example, a video that has already been given to the prosecution, clearly documenting such a sermon in which the sheikh is in clear violation of laws prohibiting incitement yet the prosecution has done nothing, preferring to permit the case to lay idle. His words are sufficient to enlist Muslims in Israel and around the world to join the battle surrounding Har Habayis.

The Honenu organization has pressured for action, demanding the sheikh stand trial. He was finally taken in for questioning and police have finally recommended filing an indictment but once again, it appears the prosecution has his own agenda.
