On the 804th yahrzeit of the Rambam, Israel’s Ministry of Tourism is looking into establishing a Rambam Center in Tiveria, the city in which he is buried. The project is being coordinated in conjunction with the office responsible for promoting religious tourism.
The new center is expected to be built in Beit Alumot, not far from the tzion. It will serve as a museum and academic center for the works of the Rambam.
Tourism Minister (Yisrael Beteinu) Stas Misezhnikov explains that the project is in line with his office’s efforts to promote religious tourism around the country, the daily HaMevaser reports.
