NYPD: Gun That May Have Been Used In Officer’s Death Found

tyrThe New York Police Department says divers have found a gun that was “consistent” with the weapon used to kill one of its officers during a foot chase in Manhattan.

Chief of Manhattan detectives William Aubry says the weapon was found around 3 a.m. Sunday at the bottom of the Harlem River. It will undergo testing to determine whether it is the same gun that was used to shoot Officer Rudolph Holder in the head Tuesday night.

The police also shut down part of a major roadway in the area of the shooting for a few hours Sunday morning as they conducted a ground search.

Tyrone Howard has been charged with murder and robbery in Holder’s death. His lawyer has said there are missing details in the case.
