I drove up there two weeks ago. There is major
construction going on. Does anyone know how
all the summer traffic is going to be handled?
Are they keeping the lane closures? This is going
to be a real ‘trip’ on the weekends…..
A reminder to the oilam: cops on route 17 will be looking to give out more speeding tickets than ever as they need more $$ for township coffers that have been lost in the econonomic downturn. Be smart and safe!! avoid speeding. Ann extra 10 MPH on the 17 at best can save you 5 minutes over the whole trek. NOT WORTH IT>
Please leave yourself plenty of time to get to the mountains before Shabbos. Reckless driving is a danger to all. NO excuses. Erev shabbos in no different. Please leave enough time to make your trip and we should all have a safe and wonderful summer.
Maybe YWN can provide a link to alternate routes to the Catskills from all areas including from the 17 itself in case someone is stuck in major traffic.
