Four of the seven new cases of swine flu in Israel appear to have contracted the disease locally. Two males, 50 and 27 are admitted to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. A 26-year-old female is in Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, and a 20-year-old female in Kaplan Hospital in Rechovot.
Three additional cases were diagnosed among travelers returning from the United States, a 48 and 68-year-old males admitted to Ichilov and a 47-year-old male in Ha’emek Hospital in Afula. Two of them were apparently infected on the plane resulting in the Health Ministry has issued an alert, calling on passengers from flight 002 (El Al) from NYC to Tel Aviv that landed on Thursday, 4 June at 13:15 as well as Lufthansa flight 690 that landed the following day from Frankfurt at 03:20 to seek medical assistance at the first sign of feeling fever or flu symptoms.
As of Sunday morning, there are 48 confirmed cases in Israel.
