While the Eida Chareidis agreed to postpone a major pro-Shabbos demonstration last week, it appears the event is on the agenda for this Shabbos. The decision to hold the rally was prompted by the announcement from Jerusalem City Hall that it will use non-Jews to operate a number of downtown parking lots on Shabbos and Yomtov to accommodate visitors to the capital. The Eida rejects the plan, insisting it will encourage increased chilul Shabbos and it lacks respect for Shabbos and Yerushalayim.
Following a meeting with Gavad Rav Weiss Shlita, who was briefed regarding the agreement reached last week with police, in addition to the planned opening of the parking lots by City Hall, the decision was made to hold the rally this Shabbos.
The Eida has learned City Hall plans to begin operating the Shabbos parking lot service this week, prompting the decision. Logistical decisions such as time and venue are being discussed, with one option on the table being a mach from Zupnik Square to City Hall.

May the Eida Hachreidis be matliach in their efforts to prevent Chillul Shabbos.
Si iz besser tzu lernen Tayrah… Oib dee mentshen hut tzite ohfun Shabbos tzu protesten, iz uchen vay…
just remember there is no “dina dimalchusa dina in israel!”
“Eis Lasos la’…. Hifirei To’rusachoo” we all must go to the protest against chilel Shaboss that they are doing over their, also to support the EIDA HACHREIDAS.
I wish they would do the protest here in NY.
#5- I cannot believe that you are serious. “I wish they would do the protest here in NY.” What? We live in Galus and unfortunately that means that we live amongst goyim. We cannot have a chillul hashem! We cannot force our love of shabbos on them, and in America they cannot force us to attend church! Show our love of shabbos by preserving the shabbos ourselves, properly as it should be, and then those who dont know and are Jewish will know.
#4 you are totally WRONG
#4 is correct.
#5 is correct. Obviously he is referring to our brothers and not the goyim.
There is an annual Shabbos Parade on Kings Highway (from Ocean Parkway to Ocean Avenue and back in Brooklyn) every year for the past 30 or so years, publicly supporting Shabbos.
If they will be run by non-Jews, why is that chillul Shabbos?
Eidah find anyone solution to this problem. Be happy with closed-off streets and shabbos shalom in particular areas.
Yerushalayim is a world center for many and part of these manys travel by car and require parking spots.
To #6 havesomeseichel
I did not ment to force the Goyim about Shaboss,
I ment to say a protest against the Yiden in E.I. (GOVERMENT). that are forcing Chilel Shabos On yiden a protest against them, and in the same time support the EDI HACH’RIDES from E.I.
#9 no arabs will be there so the rest are all israelis who are all jewish! and secondly chillul hashem is also by goyim but rock on (if you put them aside before shabbos)!
#10 – Shabbos is shabbos, even in a “world center”.
Are you guys really serious? Yerushalayim is supposed to be the place where Amim Rabim come to seek out Hashem. How are they supposed to do that if you fools are throwing rocks at them? How are the Jews that are off the derech supposed to feel any comfort if all you show them is your anger?
The outlandish protests by the Eidah are ridiculous, and the poskim will tell you that as well.
A second part of this whole debate is with regards to blocking streets in Beit Shemesh and Yerushalayim that prevent ambulances and police from getting through. Who do you think you are protecting? When we go to shamayim, God will judge us, for now, allow pikuach nefesh to continue. May these effort of the Eida, and the entire Eida in its current form be replaced or revamped…
