According to most analysts, Hizbullah is expected to emerge with a majority in the new Lebanese government following Wednesday’s elections in that country. Some of the Israeli intelligence concerns stem around the reality that if Hizbullah does indeed form the next Lebanese government, Lebanon will become a regional base for Iran and the terror organizations weaponry, including tens of thousands of rockets and missiles.
In a recent visit to the area, US Vice President Joe Biden stated a Hizbullah victory in Lebanon will compel American to halt any comprehensive military aid to Lebanon.
Countering Israeli concerns and American statements, Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah accused Israel and the United States of attempting to influence the outcome of the elections. The terrorist leader added that if his party is victorious, the Shiite-Christian coalition of Hizbullah will make Lebanon’s army one of the strongest in the region.
