[PHOTO LINK BELOW] A fire that erupted in the main Belzer beis medresh in Yerushalayim resulted in an evacuation of the building. According to a Ladaat report, the blaze which erupted on Wednesday night began in a storage room for sukka schach located under the bridge on Dover Sholom Street. Heavy smoke emanated from the blaze, pouring into the main beis medresh, compelling the announcement to evacuate the area.
There were no reports of injuries.
Following the fire, the massive crowd which gathered at the Bais Medrash davened Maariv in the large courtyard outside due to the heavy smoke condition in the main Bais Medrash. Hundreds of people who had arrived from Chutz Laaretz to spend Shavuos with the Belzer Rebbe were there as well.
