Security forces on Wednesday apprehended 14 infiltrators in the Nachal Basor area in the south. The African infiltrators apparently crossed illegally into Israel seeking work.

IDF trackers found them hiding in the Ramat HaNegev area, working with volunteers of the Eshkol Regional Council volunteer search and rescue team. Their tracks were picked up near the Egypt-Israel border.

Police theorize that whoever was supposed to meet them did not show, abandoning them in the desert, leading to one death from dehydration.
