Mrs. Yehudit Dasberg’s children were murdered in a terror attack 20 years ago on January 9, 1996 and she undertook the responsibility of raising the couple’s children. Dvir, who was 20-months-old at the time, was raised in his grandmother’s home along with his brother Yishai. Now Mrs. Dasberg made a shiva visit to the home of the Henkin family, who suffered their loss during Sukkos.

Mrs. Dasberg was menachem aveil Rebitzen Chana Henkin, who together with her husband and mechutanim are faced with raising the four young orphans. The young children’s parents, Rabbi Eitam and Na’ama Henkin HY”D, were murdered in a Shomron terror attack during Sukkos.

Mrs. Dasberg’s daughter Efrat (25) was murdered along with her son-in-law Yaron (26) as they drove between Gush Etzion and Beit Shemesh. Dvir and Yishai were raised by her. Dvir calls Yehudit “ima”.

Yehudit explains that shortly following the fatal attack Dvir called for abba and with this painful cry she realized the awesome responsibility facing her and she immediately had to become their mother in addition to their grandmother.

Dvir admits that he was too young and therefore has no memories of his parents other than what he was taught by Yehudit. Yehudit on Tuesday, 23 Tishrei, made a shiva visit to the Henkins to comfort and assist them. Dvir told Channel 10 News that his life is a good one and he would not change it for his grandmother raised them and loved them in a wonderful fashion.

Yehudit told Channel 10 she made a shiva visit in the hope of providing a bit of advice and words of comfort from one who genuinely understands what the parents are going through during this most difficult period.
