Addressing a Labor faction meeting on Monday, party leader Defense Minister Ehud Barak stated the removal of the unauthorized outposts is not a matter that will takes months or years, but a matter of weeks.
Flexing his political muscle, Barak added that he hopes dialogue will yield an agreement by which they are evacuated voluntarily but if this is not the case; “the necessary amount of force” would be used to remove them.
In a related matter, veteran settlement leader and former Kedumim leader Daniela Weiss told the media on Monday she fears a deal is already in the words between Barak and Settlement Council leaders to voluntarily evacuate some of the outposts while they will claim a victory over others. She condemned the council leaders, who in the past have made such a deal and appear to be heading in the same direction today.
