A fire broke out in the Leonardo Privilege Hotel in the Dead Sea on Tuesday afternoon, the first day of chol hamoed Sukkos in Israel. Magen David Adom reported that four mobile first aid station units responded in addition to six regular EMT ambulances. Fire department units responded from Beersheva and Dimona responded as well. The fire was on the tenth floor.
B’chasdei Hashem the firemen brought the fire under control quickly. According to a fire department spokesman, a total of six people were injured including four employees, an adult guest and an infant. None of the injuries were serious. The injured were transported to a hospital.
The cause of the blaze is not being announced at this time. Fire investigators are operating on the scene.
