The IDF retaliated with artillery shells to rocket fire into the Golan Heights during the first day of Sukkos. It was the second rocket incident in a number of days. The rocket fire is viewed as spillover from the ongoing Syrian civil war but Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon explains even the spillover will not be tolerated. He holds Syrian leader Bashar el-Assad responsible for maintaining quiet along Israel’s northern border.
Ya’alon on motzei the first day of Sukkos told the media the rockets in the Golan Heights represent a red line that Israel will not tolerate and the Syrian Army must take the necessary steps to prevent future occurrences.
