Shas leader Minister of the Interior Eli Yishai on Sunday called for equal enforcement of the law, demanding that if the government is deciding to remove unauthorized outposts in Yehuda and Shomron, that the law be enforced against unauthorized PA (Palestinian Authority) structures and widespread illegal construction in Israeli Arab communities too.

Marking his remarks at the start of Sunday’s weekly cabinet meeting, Yishai stated that America’s demand to halt all construction in Yosh areas presents a significant problem, explaining there are more than a few young couples seeking a place to live in Modi’in Illit and Betar Illit. As a result the consequences of America’s policy are expulsion of young couples from their communities.

He added a return to the pre-1967 borders today will not bring peace or security, but rather it will bring the conflict within Green Line Israel.

Yishai’s position was echoed by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.
