Rome Mayor Gianni Alemanno, who arrived in Sderot earlier this week accompanied by Noam Shalit, the father of Gilad Shalit, visited a rocket attack site on Tuesday evening, hours following the attack. 
 
The mayor explained Rome has given honorary citizenship to Gilad Shalit, adding he will assist in repairing the damaged homes in the bomb-stricken southern city.
