The Jerusalem District Court on Sunday, 7 Tishrei, approved the administrative detention of Meir Ettinger. Ettinger was arrested after an administrative detention order was issued against him in Menachem Av. Authorities allege Ettinger heads a Jewish underground and he is working to overthrow the government to replace it with a government run by halacha. The fact he was arrested by administrative order indicates there is a lack of evidence which would be used to arrest him, charge him for his crimes and place him on trial.

Attorney Yuval Zemer of Honenu filed the petition on Ettinger’s behalf. It now appears Honenu plans to study the court’s decision and will then appeal to the Supreme Court.
