Weapons Cache Intended for Gaza Apprehended

The al-Quds al-Arabi newspaper reports that Egypt is continuing efforts to prevent weapons smuggling from Sinai into Gaza. In the Saturday edition, the paper reported that last week, Egyptian forces discovered a major weapons cache that was intended for Hamas-controlled Gaza. The weapons uncovered include 266 Fajar rockets, anti-tank rockets, mortar shells and landmines.

The daily Yisrael HaYom newspaper reports on Sunday that Egyptian officials report in recent weeks, a number of weapons caches were discovered in northern Sinai. The source quoted by the newspaper explains that Bedouins are frequently paid to smuggle weapons over the border.
