The White House is criticizing the GOP and its presidential candidates for failing to rebuke Donald Trump’s comments about immigrants and minorities.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest is reacting to a Trump town hall. The GOP front-runner declined to correct a questioner who wrongly stated that President Barack Obama is Muslim.
Earnest says it’s too bad Trump couldn’t summon the patriotism to correct the questioner. And he says it’s unsurprising it happened at a Trump event.
Earnest broadens his critique beyond Trump to fault all the Republican candidates for not denouncing what he calls Trump’s “cynical strategy.”
But some have. South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham says on Twitter there is a “right way to handle” such questions, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he would have corrected the questioner.

Only the truth offends. If there was no truth to it, it would be a non-issue.
Well he might as well be Muslim if he won’t say anything about the comments made by Abbas.
Why should Donald
Not be in titled to his opinions
I can’t understand why the man can’t be in titled to his opinions just because he’s running for president dosent mean he can’t have his opinions
Wait, there’s something wrong with Muslims that offended Barak HUSSEIN Obama being labeled one? According to HUSSEIN in his Cairo speech they have contributed more to the world than most other civilizations. I would be honored to be called a Muslim.
I would also demand an apology for being called Muslim it’s really embarrassing and has terrible connotations
@yavak..u actually hit it right on the head why are they all making a big deal about someone mistakenly calling him a muslim? Is it a bad thing? …apparently the way they are reacting it is….if the guy would’ve said hillary was jewish would he also have to correct him…who says he actually knows…what if he called Carson a Catholic and really he’s mormon….I don’t see why Noone has pointed out this seemingly huge point.
