Border police at the Tapuach Junction Checkpoint in Shomron became suspicious of a 20-year-old resident Shechem on Wednesday, 3 Tishrei at about 14:00.

When they tried to check him he pulled a knife and tried to stab them. One of the policeman chambered a bullet and the suspect ran. They apprehended immediately and placed him in custody.

As police were checking him as part of a more comprehensive search he drew a knife from his trousers and tried to stab them. The commander of the border police company, Roi Amos, praised the response of his troops.
