It is a known fact that the situation inside pre-1967 Green Line Israel is not sympathetic towards the housing needs of young couples, but that situation is even increasingly problematic in communities throughout Yehuda and Shomron.
Danny Dayan, who heads the Council of Settlements in Yehuda and Shomron, explained that during recent years, the government has been implementing its “quiet policy of expulsion” which is the result of the housing freeze.
In a press conference he explained that approximately 2,100 Yosh couples that marry annually, 1,600 are compelled to leave Yehuda and Shomron as a result of the housing shortage. That means only 400 couples can remain in one of the yishuvim.
Dayan lamented the lies and erroneous facts that are being used to falsely represent life in yishuvim, trying to paint a picture of a false reality that is destructive, contributing to the ongoing policy that defies the natural rate of growth and expansion of Yosh communities.
