Syria’s Tishreen newspaper reports that Damascus in its response to a White House announcement to renew sanctions called on US President Barak Obama to withdraw the “foolish policies” implemented by the former administration of President George Bush.

The state-run newspaper calls for abandoning the “foolish practices”, towards replacing them with “dialogue and discussions through transparent practices…”

While American envoys continue probing a diplomatic channel with Damascus, the White House has announced it plans to renew sanctions against Syria as diplomatic efforts have not achieved their desired goal.
