Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will be undergoing prostate cancer surgery in the United States. The former prime minister took his case to the High Court of Justice, seeking a postponement of the attorney general’s legal process against him in ongoing investigations to seek medical care abroad.
Despite objections from Attorney General Menachem Mazuz, the court gave the okay for the former prime minister to travel to the United States, where reports signal his cancer has become increasingly serious.
Reports surrounding the decision to have surgery in the coming weeks in the USA indicate Olmert stated that technology in the US permits him to have the procedure to remove a tumor done in a way that is more suited to him. An exact date for the surgical procedure has not been announced.

Just wondering… Who will be paying for this expensive medical care? Not Israeli health insurance, not the civil service salary of even a prime minister. Where does he get the money for this? He may be making big bucks in the FUTURE doing speaking engagements (from anyone dumb enough to pay him) but until now he’s been earning bubkas. So… from where??? By the way, will he be applying for a green card while he’s here?
