Magen David Adom blood bank officials’ are calling on Israelis to “take advantage of the summer to donate blood”. There is currently a severe shortage of certain blood types; O+ as well as O-, A- and B-. The shortage is making it difficult for MDA to supply blood to the nation’s hospitals.

MDA officials’ remind Israelis that anyone donating a unit of blood receives insurance for himself as well as his immediate family for one year should any of them require blood during that time period.
