Committee Investigating Murderous Attack at Toeiva Parade Releases its Report

schDuring the recent Jerusalem toeiva parade, Yishai Schlisel murdered one person and left others injured in a stabbing attack. Schlisel was released from prison just weeks before the parade after serving a 10-year sentence for an attempted murder conviction. He perpetrated a stabbing attack at another toeiva parade about a decade ago.

Police came under harsh criticism following the fatal attack that claimed the life of 16-year-old Shira Banki A”H, who was at the parade even though she was not a member of the toeiva community. Police explained they had intelligence information that Schlisel may try to strike out again and personnel were ordered to look out for him. Nevertheless police did not detect him and the attack occurred. An investigation was ordered and the investigators on Sunday, 1 Elul submitted their findings to Acting Police Chief Bentzi Sau and Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan. The findings of the probe are not being released to the public at this time.

After a two-week investigation it is reported the probe recommends actions against individuals, a censure in their record. There are no recommendations to dismiss anyone but there is a recommendation to censure Jerusalem Police Chief Moshe Edri.

The reports cites the failures of Israel Police:

· The lack of monitoring on Schlisel following his release, prior to the parade, especially since he announced he will strike again.

· Schlisel managed to penetrate the police security ring without being detected by anyone. This is particularly troublesome investigators explain because Schlisel was dressed in chareidi garb and he stuck out at the parade.

· Jerusalem Police canceled the unit that monitors threats coming from the chareidi community.

· Since his earlier attack in 2005 there we no serious incidents at the parade and therefore, police became complacent.

While the probe does not recommend dismissing anyone from the force, the victims are not as understanding and they are calling on Erdan to make sure the responsible officer shoulders the consequences of the department’s failures.

  1. “There are no recommendations to dismiss anyone”

That is the problem in Israel today. No one EVER gets fired from their Government/State jobs, no matter what. Always shift the blame.

  2. This whole incident was a set up from day one. Give me a break. This troubled yid tried killing these meshugoyim 10 years ago and they let him loose 3 weeks before??? It was all a set up to make chareidim look bad. The police saw him, waited for him to attack a number of people, and then moved in. Look carefully how they stick his face in the camera right after arrest. These Israeli רשעים will do anything and everything to make chareidim look bad since their whole reason for being is to uproot torah ….By רשעים there is a מצוה to be דן לכף חוב in even in far-fetched cases….how much more so when it is so obvious.

  3. Maybe if we called it a “Gay Pride Parade” rather than “Toeiva Parade”, the next meshugina will not feel that this community is on his side. Lets everyone grow up please.

  4. guys! this person has a mental illness. everybody jumping which language we should call this chicken market (no offence to the chickens). making the charedis look bad!since when does any society take into consideration what any mentally impaired person might think! do you know how his mind works? how he thinks? if yes, then join him in the psyc ward! the mentally impaired person might not be thinking at all,,, if so then you second guessing him are hallucinating.

  5. To #5: Maybe we should change the wording in the Torah from: “toeiva hee” to: “pride hee?” That should really convince the next meshugina that Hashem is (not) on his side. Chas ve’shalom.
I definitely approve of everyone growing up.
