Tens of cellular telephones, SIM cards, batteries, chargers and accessories were confiscated by Israel Prison Authority officials. The items were intercepted as they were intended for prisons in the Beersheva and the southern district.

Six inmates were arrested for their involvement in attempting to get the phones and accessories to security prisoners, the term used by the prison authority spokesperson for terrorists. It is not reported how the phones made their way to the prisoners.
