An Israeli was found guilty and sentenced to four years imprisonment in a plea bargain agreement. The man entered the Iranian Consulate in Istanbul during a 2006 visit, offering information. He was found guilty of assisting an enemy nation, divulging information to the enemy and related charges.
The man offered to compromise Israel’s interests by providing classified security information to the Iranians. The convicted spy was taken into custody upon his return to Israel in May 2008. A judicial gag order prevents disclosure of other details of the case, including his identity.
