One border policeman was moderately injured while others sustained less serious injuries after being attacked by hundreds of angry residents in the Israeli Arab municipality of Kafr Kassam.

The border police were surrounded as they approached a concrete base for a building under construction, an illegal building. Authorities were sent to destroy the base of the illegal structure. The mob began pelting the soldiers with rocks and other objects, then attacking them. Twelve suspects were taken into custody.

Responding to the razing of the illegal structure, Arab MK (Ra’am-Ta’al) Sheikh Ibrahim Sarsur called the government’s actions “barbaric”.
