Kiryas Joel to receive money for private housing

The Kiryas Joel Housing Authority is one of 34 New York agencies sharing $3.2 million in federal funds meant to help home renters become owners, the Department of Housing and Urban Development announced yesterday.

The cut for Kiryas Joel was $63,630. Those funds underwrite the salaries of employees who enroll recipients of Section 8 rent subsidies in job training, child care and other programs.
