UPDATED (PHOTOS) – Tragic Accident Involving Hatzolah Ambulance


YW-FHVACAI-026.jpg9:25PM EST: UPDATE & PHOTOS BELOW A Flatbush Hatzolah Ambulance has just been involved in a serious accident involving a motorcycle – during an emergency. According to initial reports, the ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital when the ambulance was involved in the accident on Kings Highway and West 6th Street.

The driver of the motorcycle is reported to be in traumatic arrest, and the NYPD AI Squad is responding to the scene.

UPDATE 10:00PM EST: Sources confirm to YWN that the victim has R”L been pronounced DOA at Lutheran Trauma Center. He is a member of the Sephardic community in Flatbush and is approximately 25-years-old. His name has not been released pending proper family notifications.

It appears that the accident occurred when the motorcycle “T-Boned” the ambulance in the intersection.

Misaskim units are on the scene.

  1. A “T-Bone” is when one vehicle strikes another in the middle of one side (forming a “T”). This wasn’t a head-on collision. Reports are that the ambulance was in the intersection and the motorcyclist struck it from the side.
